Hello! My name is Rick Johnson. I'm a husband and cheer dad of 3 daughters, and enjoy capturing my family's proudest moments both on and off the cheer mat. I'd like to help make lasting memories through photography for your family as well!
While I'm a Systems Engineer by day, I love photography when I'm not at my day job. I was exposed to digital photography during it's infancy in the early 1990s thanks to a fantastic photographics teacher in high school, and have considered it a hobby ever since. I purchased my first digital camera in 1999. Fast forwarding 16+ years and several cameras later, I've amassed many tens of thousands of digital images while nurturing my passion and honing my photography skills.
I started RickJ Photography as I'd like to share my passion for photography with you!
I shoot with a Nikon D750, usually wearing a 50mm f/1.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, or a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, and can use a reflector and/or up to three flashes with umbrellas where appropriate. With advanced notice, I can borrow other lenses or lighting as required by the particular session.
